Scout is almost always frustrated with school; the curriculum pace moves too slow for her liking. The school year passes roughly for her. On her way home from school one day, she's walking past the Radley house when she finds pieces of gum in their tree outside of their house. She takes them and chews them, only to take them out when Jem gets worried about it. Once summer comes and school is done, Scout begins to feel free of stress. Her friend Dill comes back, and once again it's all fun and games for the children of Maycomb County. They play games that act out Boo Radley and his family, which causes problems for Atticus, their father.
