Chaps 4-5

Out of chapters 4-5 I want to talk about the piece of chewing gum scout found. Scout was so happy that she found  this piece of gum, although Jem was half scared to death. He made her spit it out right away. This is an example of how growing up can change peoples outlook on stuff. Scout was exhilarated that she found this gum, Jem would have thought of this as nothing. What made Scout so happy was her lack of knowledge on germs and not thinking about the bad side. Jem, is much more educated and knows more about this kind of stuff so he wouldn't have even thought about picking it up. Although since scout doesn't know much about it it is great. So this may actually lead to the saying ignorance is bliss.
