Chapter 2 was about scouts first day of school and how mrs Caroline was new so she didn't understand the kids and their background. For example Walter Cunningham he couldn't pay for lunch so she tried to give him a qaurter and he could pay her back the next day but he knew he couldn't afford it so wouldn't take it. Also she tried to make punishment by making her stand in a corner and pats of a ruler. In their case it's not a big deal they have had worse.
Chapter 3: this chapter was about Walter Cunningham coming over and scout didn't understand why he was pouring syrup all over his food- he did because his family couldn't afford things like that. I felt bad for him because his family couldn't afford things that they wanted because they were so poor. Another thing that happened was mrs.caroline was freaked out by a cootie. So she wanted him to go home and shower- another point on how she doesn't know the people. They can't shower. She tried to make Burris sit back down but she didn't know (again) that the ewells only show up the first day of school and never come back till the next year. So little chuck little (my hero) made him leave. I also feel bad for mrs.C because she doesn't understand yet. Scout goes home that night and tells Atticus why she doesn't want to go to school again because she said Atticus was teaching her wrong and he should stop. He then taught her a very important lesson- which was to walk in someone else's then you will understand them.
Chapter 4: in this chapter scout saw an oak trees by the radley lot and a price of gum in it. Her way of making sure it was okay to eat was licking it and waiting a while then she didn't die she out it in her mouth. Jem came over and told her to spit it out. Then they found 2 pennies in there. Dill scout and Jem made up a game about the radley a stories. Atticus seemed to know they were up to know good and told them to stop.
Chapter 5: dill told scout she was the only girl he loved. Mrs. Maudie told scout about foot washing Batists which thing anything that's pleasure is a sin. Jem and dill (scout tagged along) tried to make mr.radley come out of his house and Atticus yelled at them to stop bothering him. I agree with him I feel like he did nothing wrong and maybe he just wants to be left alone.
