TKAM Chapters 21-22

In these chapters we meet Dolphus Raymond. I particularly love his character because of fm what he stood from in this time period, and how he shares his secrets. He's the town "drunk" basically but admitted to Dill and Scout that he only fakes it so people think that his having mixed racial children is because of his drinking problem not his own doing. When scout asked him why he told them about his secret and he said because they were children and really didn't understand why he wasn't bing truthful. It really shows how the views and opinions of the children can be viewed not only by the reader but by others around. In the court room when scout got that feeling the foreshadowing of Toms guilty verdict her child like senses showed that these feeling the things that only a child could see the beauty and hatefulness of the world brought her into perspective almost making her mature in a way and Over all showing that this case was nothing but prejudices getting in the way. The thing is if it was children on that jury Tom would be free and the verdict would be a lot more truthful
