TKAMB 18-20
Mayella is caught between a rock and a boulder. Her father is clearly forcing her into something she doesn't want to do, and she's being worn very thin by the court proceedings. She's just a confused girl who doesn't know what to say or how to stand up for herself. In 19, Tom has a very believable story. Mayella is just an attention-starved girl who doesn't know how to act proper because of her up-bringing and her father. I don't think that Tom could have hurt her, because of his damaged right arm. Dill was just too over-whelmed by the injustice of the adult world that he couldn't help but cry. I think that Mr. Dolphus Raymond is a good person on the inside. He's just another man trying to protect his private life from the prying eyes of his community. The Jury should, with the evidence they have, free Tom Robinson.
