Chapter 12-14

In Chapters 12-14 of To Kill a Mockingbird, we see, that as Jem, grows up, he is becoming more and more of a parent figure to Scout, whether she wants to our not. Several times in the three chapters he parents Scout on what she is doing. During chapter 14, she bosses Scout around after their aunt yells at them. When she rebuttals, Jem threatens to spank her if she does not listen. Earlier in the Chapter Scout also states that when Jem gives her books, it is not because he wants too; it is because he feels that it is “best” for her.
