To Kill A Mockingbird Ch. 21, & 22

    There was one part of these chapters that intrigued me. When the jury came in with the verdict, Scout says that if they didn't look at the defendant, they had convicted him.  It seemed to me like the jurors felt guilty.  This is ironic considering there the ones deciding on this mans guilt. If anything they should be some of the only ones in the court with a clear concious. I think they knew what they had done was wrong in there heart, but they decided to ignore and instead play into the mob mentality.  This is especially baby's considering there's a mans life at stake.  It unimaginably selfish to sacrifice a mans life so you can be socially accepted as a white man.
