I was intrigued by Scout wanting to help her dad when the mob surrounded him and Tom Robinson. He is a very unconventional thinker. Most adult white males in this time would view Tom Robinson as a dead man, but he view's him as a huge misunderstanding. Also, his is showing the jury and the public how the Ewell's story is full of holes and that they are using their social status to rid the town of its African American community. Also, most lawyers appointed would have just told Tom to plead guilty, but Atticus knows he's innocent. He is a revolutionary man because a white man siding with an African American man in court in the south is unheard of and frowned upon. Most of the people there are there to see Tom get hanged. I predict that Tom will be proven innocent.
