TKAMB Chapters 12-14

Throughout these chapters Scout is finding it difficult to cope with Jem maturing. The thing she doesn't get is that because she's a girl and younger, means she is getting treated differently in this time period. She's getting the full brunt of the prejudice against women now and is learning that she can't do the same things boys do. When on the topic of prejudice, the court case of Tom Robinson is being to unfurl and see action from Aunt Alexandra. Now when they talk about the case she is still not happy about it and is trying to preserve the family's name. Well back then name and the plot of land was all you had so scout got confused with this she even says so, showing that our unreliable narrator picks up from everyone else. So a whole lot of power struggling in the family is going on and there is trouble in the way the children are being raised because they are seeing so many different things happen at once. With Aunt Alexandra moving in conflict among this struggle for power will be seen more often. But on a lighter note I'm so happy dill is back I love him so much and the arrival of his character is bound to stir up something that I cannot wait to read about.
