I really liked the three chapters 17, 18 and 19. They are revealing, sometimes confusing, and open your eyes to the truth. Some major parts were how Heck Tate tells how Bob Ewell got him to go to his house and show how Mayella had been badly bruised on the right side of her face and raped, allegedly by Tom Robinson. Though everyone assumes it was him, because he's black (which caused descrimination), and that that's just what the "victim" (Mayella) said. The only thing is, TR is left handed. This causes questioning for Atticus because why would a left-handed man beat a woman that only a right-handed man could do?
After slinging the blame across the court room at Bob Ewell, then Mayella, things just got confusing. Apparently to Mayella her dad beat her, but to Tom she came on to him and her father saw?
I felt bad for Dill being scared for Tom after the harsh testimony. He's only a kid and there's not much he can understand. At this point, Jem is the only kid that might get it. Also, I'm proud of Atticus for figuring things out quickly and well. It's shows not only is he a good father but a good lawyer.
