To kill a mockingbird chapters 15-17

In these chapters, Scout is not completely aware and understands what's going on, such as why Atticus is recieving so much judgement and hate for taking up on the Tom Robinson case. Jem seems to be maturing very much, and this seems to bother Scout a lot. I feel like Dill, in a way, is taking Jem's place as a figure that Scout looks up to.
