Mockingbird chapter 1&2

It is scouts first day of school and we learned that her father is pretty well off and can afford to teach her daughter scout how to read. She gets in fights with her teacher over the teacher not knowing anything about the students in the classroom. She tries to inform the teacher when lending money that the poor kid won't afford to pay her back. So  she gets in trouble and the teacher whacks her hand with a ruler. After she beats up the kid that "got her in trouble" I don't know why she beat him up or tried to because he didn't do anything to her. She tried to help him out but when it ended badly she got mad at him. When it wasn't really his fault.
