To kill a mocking bird chapter 1

After reading chapter one I feel like this book is going to go deep and really touch upon certain subjects film the specific time period. Also I'm interested in finding out why The Radelys keep to themselves about everything and what caused them to be so hostile. The book got me interested by the first chapter which is going to make it an easier read.
