To kill a mockingbird chapter 9
When at school scout gets ready to fight Cecil Jacobs after she said that her father defends Negros (N word). Scout wants her father to explain it to her. Atticus says that all lawyers defend Negros but not equally and it is frowned upon when people defended them equally like Atticus. It's almost Christmas and scouts uncle comes over with his family. She despises her cousin. There was a gun in one of the presents. It was really scary when she thought about her cousin when she had the gun. Her cousin said that Atticus is disgracing their family by defending a negro which was overheard by Francis by his mom. Scout punched Francis in the face and her knuckles got cut. Uncle Jack talks to Atticus and scout is eavesdropping. Atticus says that things will just get harder since he is defending a negro and scout needs to control her temper.
