TKAM chapters 12-14

In chapter 12, we start to see that Jem is growing up and he starts to avoid Scout a lot more, which she doesn't seem to like or understand. Jem even tells Scout "It's time you start bein' a girl and acting right!" Scout spends most of her time with Calpurnia and she begins to see that "maybe there was some skill involved in being a girl". 

I find it strange how the priest at the church scolds the congregation for not donating enough money. These people are obviously going through hard times with expenses, so i don't see why they should be forced to donate money that they can't afford to give away. This was kind of selfish of them.
