In chapter 6 of team Jem goes back to the Radley place looking for his lost pants. He,Dill, and Scout had run over to peek in the house. Nathan Radley caught someone on his land and shot at them. When Jem came ack after losing his pants he we shivering and shaking. I think Jem encountered something unnerving at the Radley place that night and is slightly traumatized by it all.
